笔者认为，副机长皈依伊斯兰教的事如果属实而主流媒体没报道，这里面至少说明一点，那就是政治考量。因为在事实还没调查清楚之前，轻率地把造成该事件的原因往恐怖袭击上引，应该是不负责任的表现，况且白宫在第一时间表示没有任何证据表明空难与恐怖袭击有关。当然还会有另外一种考虑，那就是担心产生外溢的连环效应。试想，在巴黎查理周刊恐怖袭击事件余音未了之时，再紧接着轻易把德翼空难定性为恐袭事件，再加上中东地区现在的乱局，那就无异于是对恐怖组织的免费宣传了。再者，即便皈依伊斯兰教也不能说明什么，恐怖袭击并不是哪一个宗教的专利，一切还得等待最后调查结果的出炉。
